Sidewalk & Trail Improvements

The City of Social Circle is committed to expanding safe, walkable, and connected pathways throughout the community. Ongoing and upcoming sidewalk and trail projects are focused on improving accessibility, encouraging active transportation, and enhancing quality of life for residents and visitors.

Sidewalk Projects

The City has recently completed sidewalk extensions along North Cherokee Road and South Cherokee Road. Additional improvements are underway, including:

  • East Hightower Trail Sidewalks – This project will soon go out for bid and includes the installation of sidewalks from Spring Street to Vine Circle.

  • TAP Grant Applications – Staff have applied for two Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grants to help fund the proposed extension of sidewalks along North Cherokee Road to Partee Drive.

These projects support the City’s goal of improving pedestrian safety and connectivity across neighborhoods and key destinations. Click HERE for a map of intended sidewalk projects.

Trail Planning & Development

The City of Social Circle is actively working with CPL architects and engineers to develop a comprehensive Parks and Trails Master Plan. As part of this planning effort, CPL has conducted a public input survey to gather feedback on park and trail priorities. Trail locations currently under consideration include Stephens Park,  Social Circle Primary School, and Burkes Field. The Parks and Trails Master Plan is currently under public review.
