To schedule an inspection, e-mail socialcirclefireinspections@socialcirclega.gov or call 770-464-0621.

New businesses opening in Social Circle will need a business license. The application for a business license can be found on the Community Development Director page. If your business is located in a commercial or industrial building, you will be required to get a cleared fire and life safety inspection with no violations remedied prior to issuance of your license. If your building has had a change of use or change of occupancy from its last certificate of occupancy, follow the directions on that page prior to scheduling inspections. Failure to do so will delay your opening timeframe.

Once you have applied for your business license, follow the link below to schedule your fire inspection. Inspections must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.

Once the appointment has been confirmed, you will receive an invoice for the inspection fee of $75. This is independent of any fees collected by City Hall and is for this inspection only. The invoice may be paid online at the link provided with the invoice or at City Hall. This fee must be paid prior to you inspection date and time.

In order to keep delays to a minimum and get your business up and running, please look at the list below for common issues found that you may fix prior to your inspection. This checklist is not all encompassing, but will help you with most of the potential delays.

Construction Inspections / Forms

New building construction permits must be applied for prior to beginning construction. Application must be made to both the Community Development Director and the fire marshal's office for any commercial or industrial property demolition, development, or construction. The fire marshal's office does not review plans for 1 and 2-family (duplex) residential structures, but new residential developments (subdivision site plans) are reviewed.

New developments or buildings must have a site plan approved by the City of Social Circle Fire Marshal's Office. Several things are required to be on the plan in order to receive a permit for construction. A Site Plan Checklist is attached and is required to be submitted with your site plan. The checklist must have the plan page number where the information can be found.
