Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 with possible after hour and weekend call in.		Closing Date: Until filled


Primary job function and duties: The City of Social Circle is looking for a wastewater lab/operator to complete our staff. Ideal candidate will have a Class 2 (or higher) wastewater license issued from the State of Georgia or a wastewater lab license issued from the State of Georgia. Person should be familiar with testing for BOD, TSS, ammonia, alkalinity, phosphorus, fecal coliform, and ph. Person will assist with daily operations of wastewater plant activities. Operators work Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and split work requirements on weekends so there is built in overtime (approximately 3 hours on Saturday and 3 hours on Sunday). Benefits include: 10 paid holidays per year, health insurance, dental, and retirement. The physical duties include: walking, lifting to 50 lbs., reaching, climbing, and standing for long periods of time. Other duties consist of preventive maintenance of City sewer lines, general operational knowledge of equipment consisting of backhoe, trencher, sewer camera and other equipment used for repairs and installation of sewer lines. Operate CCTV for sewer camera work in sewer mains.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED

Valid driver's license

Prior experience with Microsoft Office software (indicate on application)

An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):

Georgia State Class 2 Wastewater Certification with Operational experience (indicate on application)

1-year operational experience in a Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Familiarity with SCADA as an operational process tool (Must indicate on application)

College level coursework in environmental science, chemistry, biology, hydrology, water & wastewater engineering or related (Must indicate on application)

Will consider training the appropriate candidate
